This year, the NEXTival is trying something new! We are not necessarily looking for high school playwrights who have already created a piece of theatre. This year, we are looking for artists who would be interested in devising theatre together!

What does this mean? This could mean that you are a playwright who has an idea for a show, the beginnings of a show or a show that is ready to be produced. This could mean you are an actor who has had an interest in doing some playwrighting or devising but has been too intimidated or daunted in the process to give it a show. This could mean you are a technician or a designer who is looking to create something new or try something different but have not had the outlet to do it. It could mean anything!

So how do you get involved? Below is the form to fill out.

If you are interested, we are holding auditions/interviews on Sunday, Nov. 8th from 6pm to 9pm at Highlands High School. Highlands is located at 2400 Memorial Pkwy, Fort Thomas, KY 41075. At these auditions/interviews, we will be splitting people into groups to do some "moment work" and play some games to vibe your strengths and weaknesses. We will ask about students interests, experiences, expertise, etc.

If you are interested in playwrighting, we ask that you bring a sample of your writing just so we can get a sense of your style. We also might do some writing at the audition.

If you are interested in being a technician or designer, we ask that you bring a portfolio/resume (if you have one).

If you are an actor, we ask that you come in comfortable clothing and be prepared to move around.

If you fit a multiple of categories above then that is great!
