Holding position as coach is one of the most influential roles an adult can have in a child's life. When held in high regard, a coaches word and actions are sometimes more meaningful than those of a child's parent or guardian. What you say, how you say it, and how a child sees a coach demonstrates what is said and carries significant weight.
Our desire is for all kids and their families to have a positive sports experience and to express God's love. To that end, a coach of the LC Sports and Recreation Center agrees to the following:
1. This is a recreational league; therefore, all players have the right to play.
2. A coach has great influence over everyone around them; therefore, coaches will carry themselves with dignity, class, and be above reproach.
3. Show commitment to the league's fath convictions, rules, and the entirety of its calendar.
4. Showing sportmanship is a key element to the successful growth of one's character. Coaches will model, teach, and hold players accountable in demonstrating good sportsmanship.
5. Competition and passion are healthy parts of the game. It is a coaches job to demonstrate appropriate competitiveness and passion that empowers players to meet their God-given ability, while at the same time demonstrating good sportsmanship to those around them.
6. Weekly devotions are an essential part of practice and must be facilitated to the best of the coaches ability.
7. Referees are humans who only have two eyes, can only focus on one possession, and are not perfect. Coaches will address referees in a respectful manner.
