We’re in the middle of unprecedented, intersecting crises with massive human costs. And instead of figuring out how to align with popular movement demands like a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and defunding police to reinvest in care — which reflect real needs of the masses — establishment Democrats are blaming the left for their own losses.

It’s time to put establishment Democrats on blast for their total failure to support the working class. Now is the time to FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES. This is Do or Die—and we're going to defend and advance our popular agenda.

On the weekend of December 12, DSA's national Green New Deal campaign+Medicare for All campaigns are coordinating actions to help shift the national narrative.  (Facebook event here: https://fb.me/e/5UyHessf2)

20+ DSA chapters around the country will target the Biden transition team, Pelosi, Schumer and the entire bipartisan neoliberal consensus that will consign us to climate catastrophe and working class misery — unless we organize the power we need to change course. Organized movement pressure can move them closer to a real people’s agenda — or further delegitimize them against the longer-term working class left base we’re helping to build.

We’re fighting for a COVID-19 and economic recovery response that centers the working class and can serve as a launchpad for the decade of the Green New Deal. Our Demands:
— Immediate COVID-19 Crisis Relief (including $2,000 per month for all)
— A Green Stimulus (including investments in renewable Public Power)
— A Green Job Guarantee
— The PRO Act
— The Healthcare Emergency Guarantee Act

The first date for us in DC is December 11th (the national action is 12/12, but we have convention that weekend). Given our location, DC is a central node in the national strategy, so what we pull off will be important for shaping the narrative that emerges around the action.

Our goals of the first action (“D12”):

Internal: base building for Metro DC DSA and allies to organize around federal targets linked to Green New Deal & DSA's national priorities in the months ahead
External: win a news cycle confronting targets around the Biden team, & help set a COVID/climate recovery agenda for the new administration and Congress

Plug into a team to help plan the action!

— Media group (write scripts, chants, press release, etc.; create photo, video, art)
— Outreach group (follow up w/ organizers, plug into other DSA WGs, reach out to invite & align w/ DC movement allies)
