Objectives
- To create awareness on the pollution due to plastics and microplastics to the environment and the ecosystems.
- To discuss the traces of microplastics in the surroundings, human food chain and human body.
- To promote the importance of green lifestyle and reduce the use of plastics especially single-use plastics.
- To stimulate the youngsters to think of possible solutions to the plastics and microplastics pollution to mankind.

Content:
Plastics have been a great invention that has bring great convenience to our lives. On the other hand, plastic waste has been a great pollutant to the Earth with no solution. In addition, microplastic has been an emerging environmental contaminant that has caught the attention of scientists and public in recent years. The microplastic has not only been vastly found in the marine systems, its traces were found in the freshwater systems including the drinking water too. Even though the impacts of microplastic on humans are still masked with uncertainties as there is a lack of systematic and agreeable research methodology in tracing and studying the microplastic inside the bodies and organs, the invasion of microplastic in our ecological systems and food chain is expected to take a heavy toll on the environment and our health.
