Hi everyone,

We would like to invite students from 12-18 years old to join us for the hour of breakbeatcode Hackathon for Africa, hosted by Yazi Academy

What is the breakbeatcode Hackathon?

The breakbeatcode Hackathon is an hour free, online workshop happening the month of November. During this workshop, students ages 12-18 will learn how to build beats, code in Python and remix music through 1-to-1 instruction from tech coaches from Google. Students will collaborate in teams, and by the end of the session, they will have produced and published their own music tracks.

Targeted Dates: October 29th - GMT, November 5th - WAT, November 12th - CAT, and November 19th - EAT.

On December 3rd, we will have the breakbeatcode party where students' works will be remixed in a live DJ set.

What do students need to bring?

No coding skills are required. Students will need internet access and a laptop or desktop computer. Tablet devices are not recommended.
