How can I help my child navigate social difficulties?

Children with RASopathies often struggle with social skills, insistence on sameness, and repetitive behaviors.

Up to 50% of children with RASopathies have difficulty interacting with others.

Join Stanford’s Dr. Tamar Green, Dr. Monica Siqueiros Sanchez and fellow parents and caretakers of children with RASopathies for an intimate discussion about:

  • Weakness in social cognition in children with Neurofibromatosis 1 and Noonan syndrome.

  • Common Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) symptoms in children with Neurofibromatosis 1 and Noonan syndrome.

  • What to expect from an evaluation of social difficulties in children with Neurofibromatosis 1 and Noonan syndrome?

  • Available evidence-based interventions and strategies to implement at home and school

This event is free and will take place on October 27th at 4PM PT / 6PM CT / 7PM ET. Register today.

About BRIDGE Lab

The BRIDGE Lab focuses on pediatric clinical neuroscience, with an emphasis on neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorders. The principal aim of our research program is to uncover the effects of genetic variation and associated downstream pathways on human brain development. In contrast to traditionally starting with the cognitive and behavioral symptoms that define ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, our lab takes a “genetics first” approach and studies children with neurogenetic syndromes who present with neurodevelopmental disorders. Using a combination of genetic, imaging, and behavioral assessments, we aim to contribute to the understanding of abnormalities across “idiopathic” neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and cognitive dysfunction (learning disorders and intellectual disability).
