Oregon Battle of the Books is a statewide program designed to promote a love of reading! Teams of four students compete to answer trivia questions drawn from 16 books in a quiz-show style format. Teams can have a fifth member as an alternate and each team should have a lead parent/coach.
Hallinan’s program will run from November through March (if a team advances past the district level, competition can stretch into April). Teams will read/practice on their own until February, when “battles” begin in a bracket-style play-off system. You can anticipate 2-3 battles per week for at least three weeks in February.
If your student doesn’t have a team, we can help them find one!
