Thank you for applying to the Mifgash program. Please fill out this application to the best of your ability. Please contact Miriam Blue at mblue@hillelcouncil.org with any questions.
Mifgash is a year-long program that connects Israeli and American students - in physical and virtual meetings - around their Jewish story. The purpose of the program is to expand the perspectives of all of us on Jewish culture and to promote pluralistic and democratic thinking that celebrates the diversity that exists in the Jewish world.
Current university juniors, seniors, and graduate students are invited to apply for this selective program. Up to 10 American students will be selected to join their Israeli counterparts from the University of Haifa for monthly Zoom meetings with the Israelis (Sundays at 12PM October-May), as well as an in-person gathering in Boston (October 13th-15th) and Haifa, Israel (May, 2024).
The total participant cost is $900, which includes all program costs (meals, airfare, transportation, etc) for the monthly gatherings and the trip to Israel. Some scholarship funds are available based on financial need.
By applying to the program, each applicant agrees to fully participate in the year-long program, including the mandatory sessions during the Israelis' visit to Boston in October and to participate in the trip to Haifa in May, 2024 (exact dates TBD). Any required travel paperwork, such as a valid passport, is the responsibility of the applicant. Sponsored by Hillel Haifa, Hillel Council of New England, and CJP's Boston-Haifa Connection.
