All costumes and contestants must abide by the Harmony School of Innovation student handbook, including but not limited to Appropriate Dress, Weapons and Student Conduct policies.

Weapons, or props that could be interpreted as weapons including but not limited to: Swords, Bats, NERF guns, prop weapons, or any item that could potentially harm others or could be interpreted as threatening or dangerous are NOT allowed.

If any policy violation is discovered, the student will not be allowed to enter the school and/or will have the weapon/prop confiscated and that student's contest entry disqualified immediately.

Contestants are not allowed to play music, throw glitter or liquids, or otherwise use methods that may pose as a hazard for the next contestants coming on stage or the audience or judges.

Pictures will be taken during judging and throughout the costume contest of all participants.

Process:
Four judges will be scoring contestants using a standardized rubric based on the following: accuracy, originality, construction and presentation.

After up to five minutes of deliberation, judges will announce the top three overall winners of the contest. The first contest will be 6th-8th grades and the winners for this contest will be announced first, the second contest for 9th-12th grades will begin after the first announcement and will be announced after it concludes. Chosen winners will get a trophy signifying their placement in the contest.

Each contestant will be asked to do a total of three poses at the contest: the first pose will be for entering the stage, the second pose will be for the middle of the stage and the third and last pose will be for the end of the stage before contestants leave.

Best of luck! We can't wait to see you at the contest!
