This is the process you MUST comply with to submit an applied research poster for consideration for AI Expo Africa 2023. This year our Innovation Poster Wall will return to the AI Expo Africa Expo Hall, Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg 2nd-3rd November ** THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ONLY EVENT **
Researchers & innovators can apply from anywhere in Africa and if your poster submission is chosen you will be granted 1x VIP ticket to attend the show FREE OF CHARGE and present your poster at the Poster Zone.
THEMES
The following applied Artificial Intelligence & 4IR technology R&D themes are permissible ;
- Research & innovation that has a clear applied / industrial / business or social "4Good" use case, or
- Use cases that could form the basis of a new start-up / spin-out business, or
- Use cases that solve a problem that could attract seed or venture funding
WHO CAN SUBMIT
Researchers based in African universities, colleges, NGOs, charities, Government research agencies, businesses, start-ups or privately funded entities are allowed to submit posters.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
- You can make ONE submission ONLY
- Submissions will NOT be considered if this process is NOT followed in full
- We do NOT accept submissions via email
- Full contact information must be provided as per this form including your mobile phone number
- You will be expected to attend your poster at designated times during the main event 2nd-3rd November
- Details of your poster location & joining instructions will follow should you be accepted
- We DO NOT cover travel / hotel or expenses and you must be able to attend the event in person
DEADLINES
- 29th September 2023 - Poster abstract submissions CLOSES
- 6th October 2023 - Selection and notifications issued to authors
- 9th October 2023 - Event tickets & info sent to poster presenters to join the show
POSTER FORMAT
- Ideally we are looking for academic poster sizes of A1 (841mm x 594mm)
- Ideally create your poster in portrait format (landscape is also fine)

PRIZES
- Each poster selected for the show will receive a full access FREE VIP ticket for the event
- The 1st, 2nd & 3rd winners will be announced at the show by judges
- Top 3 placed winners will also secure 1x FREE VIP ticket to AI Expo Africa 2024
