The Summer Play Camp Junior CIT Program is for 12 and 13-year-olds. Junior CITs are an important part of the Summer Play Team. Their role is similar to that of CITs, but with a few important differences. Our program allows these kids a chance to learn the ropes of becoming a camp counselor, while also having fun and being campers themselves. In the mornings, our Jr. CITs will assist group and station leaders, receiving guidance and training along the way. In the afternoons they will have the chance to visit stations as campers. Each week costs half the tuition paid by younger campers.
We are looking for Jr. CITs who have a genuine interest in playing with and helping younger children, and who wish to receive training that will help them one day become camp counselors. As with our CITs, experience with kids is a plus, but it's not required. This is a gentle introduction to the camp work world, and a supportive first "job" experience.
If you would like to apply on behalf of your child, please fill out this form, taking care to spell e-mail addresses and phone numbers correctly. Once we receive your form, we will reach out to you and set up an interview. Please do not mail in a deposit until after your child has been accepted into the program.
When selecting weeks, please note that we have a 5 and 4 day option for campers and Jr. CITs, with the rates adjusted accordingly. Most campers come five days, but some families choose to have their child come Monday-Thursday- it's up to you.
Important Dates:
-Camp is from July 1-August 1. Hours for Jr. CITs are the same as for campers: Monday-Friday 9:30am-3:00pm
-Full payment, health form and immunization records are due by June 1
-Camp is closed July 4 and 5 for the Independence Day Holiday
