Sacrament of Confirmation 2021
Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you considering enrolling your son/daughter in the Confirmation preparation programme. When you brought your child to the Church to be Baptised you promised to commit to bring them up in the practice of the faith. We invite you now, along with your child, to consider continuing that journey of faith in preparing for the sacrament of the Confirmation.

There will be a welcome and information evening for parents/guardians in due course and an enrolment ceremony for you and your child. Throughout the year, there will be special Masses of preparation that we will invite you to attend as well. While all involved in faith formation have an important role to play, the Rite of Baptism emphasises that the parents are the first teachers of their children in the ways of the faith. With this in mind, we invite you to talk to your Child about confirmation and participate in the preparation programme. We look forward to celebrating this important time with you and your family.

Please have the form below completed by *Friday 28th May*.  

The cost of admission to the Sacramental Preparation programme is €25 per child. This covers the relevant literature for the 'You Shall Be My Witness' programme. You can pay this via the donate button on the Parish Website - https://www.rathminesparish.ie/donate-to-the-parish/  OR directly to the parish office.

If your child was Baptised outside of the Parish of Rathmines, please note you must provide a copy of their Baptismal cert.

****Privacy Notice****: The information contained in this Form will be used to send reminders for
Masses, as well as resource materials (online videos, artwork & worksheets) for parents/guardians and
children in preparation for Confirmation and to register the Sacrament in the Parish records. The
information will be retained on an encrypted form on the parish computer and will be
accessed by assigned Parish employees only. The information submitted in this form will be destroyed once the programme for Confirmation has been completed and recorded in the Parish Registers. The information in the Parish Register will be retained permanently. If Baptism was in a different parish, information on Confirmation will be sent back to that parish for inclusion in the Baptism Register.

Please note this is an essential requirement in order register your Child for the sacramental programme.
