Dissertation Writing Groups Application, Summer I & II
Thank you for your interest in the Office of Professional Development's Summer Dissertation Writing Groups. Completed applications must be received by the end of the day on Monday, May 10th, 2021.

The Summer Dissertation Writing Groups will run:
Summer I - Monday, May 17th through Friday, May 28th (with no weekend obligations)
Summer II - Monday, June 28th through Friday, July 9th (with no Fourth of July or weekend obligations)

Over the course of the two weeks, OPD will offer both synchronous and asynchronous opportunities to participate in a focused community of writers in order to build support and accountability.

Space in the Summer Dissertation Writing Groups will be limited to make sure that dissertators can connect with each other and that we can support the entire group. Because of this, we ask that you fill out this application in its entirety. We expect acceptance into this program will be competitive, and participants will be selected based on the strength of their completed application. Priority will be given to dissertators who have a combination of the following:
1: a desire to participate in an active writing community
2: an interest in experimenting with and discussing best writing practices and habits; and
3: a plan to draft, revise, or edit dissertation chapters during those two weeks.

Please thoughtfully respond to the open-ended questions with an answer that is approximately 3-5 sentences (or about 150 to 300 words). This application should take about 15 minutes.
