Introduction
Gardening helps youth to learn to plan and organize. (Rodgers , 2018). It is an opportunity for teachers to chat with students about environmental issues, research, and planning. Gardening also leads to improved emotional and physical well being (Thompson R, 2018). Evidence implies reduced stress levels as a result of participating in gardening projects among youth and adults (Koay & Dillon, 2020).
Together We Can Love, Teach, & Inspire by:
Getting our children involved and interested in gardening, agriculture, and horticulture (a foundation for future career pathway).
Giving our children their own garden space.
Involving our students in the planning and design of the garden.
Encouraging our children to “dig in the dirt” and develop an appreciation for nature.
Providing Cross Curriculum Nature Club Activities, which promotes a sense of belonging, a sense of community, and accountability.
