CBU CDI Summer Seminars, 2022
This is a sign-up form for any/all of faculty seminars being offered by the CBU Center for Digital Instruction for Summer, 2022. Each non-stipended seminar runs asynchronously online for for 4 weeks and requires 4-8 hours or time per week, depending upon the specific topic. Creating Instructional Videos (May 16 - June 12)
This is a 4-week, asynchronous-online, non-stipended course for CBU faculty who are new to recording instructional videos. By the end of the course, participants will be comfortable creating screen recordings and video recordings using laptop webcams and mobile devices. No special software is required, although participants need to have CBU Canvas access. The only hardware required is a webcam (external or laptop integrated) and a mobile device with video camera capability. 4-7 hours of time per week is recommended.
Editing Instructional Videos (June 13 - July 10)
This is a 4-week, asynchronous-online, non-stipended course for CBU faculty who would like guided practice in video editing. During the 4 weeks, participants will explore editing options in Canvas Studio, Win10/11 Editor or iMovie, and the trial version of Camtasia. Participants will also explore the recording possibilities in OBS Studio (free download). It's helpful if participants come into the course with at least one "raw" video on which to practice editing. A laptop/computer and CBU Canvas access is required. 4-8 hours of time per week is recommended.
Planning a HyFlex Course (July 11 - Aug 7)
This is a 4-week, asynchronous-online, non-stipended course for CBU faculty who would like to find out more about designing a HyFlex course. By the end of the 4 weeks, participants will be able to design HyFlex modules for select courses. The training combines elements of teaching & learning pedagogy, online course design, and instructional technologies. A laptop/computer and CBU Canvas access is required. 3-5 hours of time per week is recommended.
