Coding Hubs for ScratchMaths is designed for teachers with little experience teaching Coding, or those who would like to learn about teaching Scratch integrated with mathematics.

The workshops are open to Stage 2, 3 or 4 teachers and will be delivered by teachers who have used ScratchMaths before… with support from our University of Newcastle team. The workshops will be 2 hours in duration and delivered either on our Callaghan campus or at local schools: you will be able to choose which one you prefer when we are able to release all the dates. We are also considering the option to complete some of the workshops online.

We have mapped the activities to outcomes of different K-6 Key Learning Areas (including both Science and Mathematics), as well as the relevant AITSL Teacher Standards, ACARA General Capabilities and ACARA Digital Technologies content descriptors. Each workshop will be accredited with NESA for 2 hours for the following teaching standards, at the Proficient level: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.6, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.6, 4.5, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 and 7.4
