Since the launch of our membership drive in October of 2021, many of our members, community partners, and supporters have generously volunteered their time, resources, and skills to further our mission, and asked how they could get more involved. In response, we’re incredibly excited to announce the launch of committees!
We’ve done our best to create a vision and structure designed to meet many of the important and diverse needs identified by various planning and visioning processes, assessments, and feasibility studies. For the Clifton Crafthouse Co-op to truly operate for the benefit of and be accountable to the community, we now need the participation of our community, our member-owners, to bring this vision to life. Get involved by joining a committee, and help us fully leverage the cooperative model to collaboratively create the spaces our community needs to live and thrive.
Rather than dictating the precise activities and power of each committee through charters, the Board of Directors instead approved a policy outlining a process for committee formation. In doing so, we hope to create a structure to facilitate involvement, inviting community members to join committees first, and empower those committees to create their own charters.
Four initial committees have been identified based on expressed interest and our current stage of development, but our process policy grants the flexibility to create other committees as the needs or opportunities arise. The proposed titles, functions, and example goals of each of the 4 initial committees are outlined below.
