IASAS Basketball Feb 1-5, 2023 Housing letter.
Dear ISM Parents/Students,
ISM will be hosting students from the IASAS schools; Singapore American School, International School of Kuala Lumpur, Taipei American School, International School Bangkok, and Jakarta Intercultural School for IASAS Basketball 2023. In order to put this tournament on we are required to provide home stays for the athletes while they are in Manila. We are required to house 120 male & female athletes for this event. It is school policy that students involved in Athletic/IASAS activities are willing to house a visiting student. If you are unable to house it is an expectation that you find a friend to house on your behalf. Teams will arrive Wednesday Feb 1st and depart Sunday morning Feb 5th.

Hosting is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and help ISM with the hosting process. It is part of a reciprocal agreement that will allow other ISM teams to travel throughout the year around Asia.
Many of our students, prior to CoVid 19 have experienced wonderful home stays at other IASAS competitions and events. This is the first IASAS event for us to host in over 3 years and it is a great opportunity to assist the school by providing accommodation for visiting athletes to make the event a resounding success and to prove that Bearcats are friendly, hospitable hosts!

Please complete form and submit ASAP.  We will contact you the week prior to the event to let you know all the details relating to pickup/drop off times etc, to make the event a fulfilling and successful one for our ISM student athletes and for our guests from the IASAS schools.

General guidelines/expectations for host families when housing for an IASAS event:
-Pick up and drop off from and to school on arrival and departure days (Feb 1 and Feb 5, 2023)
-Transport to school each morning and transport home at the end of each day. (This can be the school bus when it fits with the schedule. Grab is OK, but only when an ISM HS student is with the guests.)
-Provide a daily breakfast, some snacks and have an evening meal available.
-Ensure there is parental/adult supervision when visiting students are at your home each evening. (For duty of care and safety, this should be a parent or pre-approved adult relative rather than someone you employ.)
-Provide bedding and a towel.
-Expect to receive curfew calls from the visiting students coach on or before 9pm each evening.
-Please note team dinners in the evening are not allowed at IASAS events and students can be picked up from school at the end of each days play. IASAS Curfew is 9pm and no exceptions are allowed under any circumstances.
-Please note: submission of the form to house does not guarantee you will have a guest to host.  We hope to have more allocations than we need so some families may not receive a guest, you will be advised if this occurs.
-All host family members and all visiting students will be vaccinated against COVID 19.

Thank you very much in anticipation of your support.
