The global and local events of recent years have produced profound changes in the ways we relate to each other, the context of social and institutional crisis in Chile and Latin America, coupled with the global pandemic of COVID-19, and the increasingly present ecological crisis, are reconfiguring the ways we relate to others and the environment, and seem to be a prelude of a possible dystopian future. We are living in times of transition towards new social and planetary configurations.

Since the Chilean social uprising of October 2019, the Tsonami Festival rethought its dynamics, forms and contents, wondering about the role of art and artists in times of social crisis. The arrival of the pandemic made Radio Tsonami assume a fundamental role for the Tsonami Festival, empowering itself as a space for meeting and virtual experimentation, connecting with different regions of the planet.

From this context, in the year 2021 the Festival was proposed as a space for the construction of collectivities, where the individual was at the service of common projects. Following this line of work, the Festival 2022 invites to propose radio projects where the territorial, social and/or collective dimensions are of their articulating axis.


CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Through this call we invite collectives, organizations, activists, radio artists and sound creators to send proposals to participate in the radio programming of the XVI Tsonami Festival, which will be held in Valparaíso during December 2022.
