As part of the adoption process, you will be required to travel to our location (specified in the previous question) at least 2+ times.  No exceptions are made for this adoption requirement. We will not meet halfway.  We will not ship the bird to you.  Visits must be scheduled and must occur at the Feathers Galore location.  *

The adoption process may vary depending on the bird's personality and needs. However, these are the basic steps of our adoption process.  The adoption process may be subject to change, depending on the bird.  If any step below is changed, this will be discussed with the potential adopter:

Step 1 - Apply  
Step 2 - Applications will be reviewed within 30-90 days.  
Step 3 - If selected as a potential adopter, we will contact you (most likely email or text) to schedule a meet & greet visit with the bird.
Step 4 - Meet & Greet Appointment is completed.  The bird will not go home on this day.  
Step 5 - Within 24-48 hours of the meet & greet, the potential adopter and Feathers Galore representative will discuss how the meeting went and decide whether to continue with the adoption.
Step 6 - Adopter will provide the following information prior to adoption finalization (picture of the cage, dimensions of the cage to confirm properly sized for the bird, and picture of the space/room the cage will be located).
Step 7 - Adoption Finalization - Carrier will be needed to transport.  Adoption fee is due on this day.  Adoption contract will be completed/signed.
Step 8 - Enjoy your new feathered family member!!

I acknowledge the adoption fee for the bird in which I am applying.  The fee is non-negotiable.  It is due on the date the adoption is finalized.  The fee can be paid by either Cash or Paypal.   *
The adoption fee is for the bird indicated on this application and does not include any additional items (cage, toys, food, etc.) unless specifically indicated on the website.  I am aware that in addition to the adoption fee, I will be responsible for purchasing a cage, toys, and food for the bird prior to adoption day.  I will also be required to take the bird to the veterinarian within 30 days of the adoption finalization.

The birds at Feathers Galore are matched to the best potential adopter using all information provided on this application. The match is based on the bird and human's personality traits, history, household information, etc. 

Feathers Galore will select the home that the bird is most likely to thrive in based on our observations and information provided by their previous owner.  

There may be multiple homes that would be a good fit for the bird.  Feathers Galore will make the final decision on which home will be best suited for the bird.

I understand that due to the high volume of applications received, I will NOT be contacted unless I am selected as the potential adopter for my chosen bird.  

If not selected for the bird I have marked on this application, it does not mean my application was denied.  It simply means a different home was determined to be the best fit for the bird based on their needs and personality traits.
