In our retreat, the program is based on a collaboration that you and the other participants voluntarily shape. We may announce some activities in advance, but most of the programme will unfold on the spot according to your suggestions. As organizers, we provide a few basic rules and principles that facilitate the self-management of participants and ensure a harmonious and enriching experience.
This retreat is not a typical family vacation; it is an exclusive gathering designed for people who are on a journey toward respectful parenting, self-directed learning, and libertarian principles. Although our program is usually diverse and engaging, our main goal as organizers is to create a safe and inspiring environment. Children and adults are free to explore and be themselves without fear, which promotes personal growth and self-discovery. Join us on this unique journey to connect with like-minded individuals and co-create unforgettable experiences.
When you choose to join our retreat, we honor your individual lifestyle and parenting style, provided they don't impede harmonious coexistence with other participants. Participation comes with the condition that you respect fellow participants, as well as our role in maintaining a safe environment and a culture of respect for all. In living together, diverse needs and preferences naturally intersect, offering opportunities to practice consensus-building and open, respectful communication. If someone chooses to stay awake through the night, the only request is to do so without disturbing the sleep of others. Our ethical framework is rooted in the non-aggression principle (NAP), which underpins our commitment to non-violence and tolerance for differences. If anyone, including children, faces a situation they can't resolve independently, we're here to offer assistance, whether it's advice, intervention, or mediation. Each retreat includes one or more evenings dedicated to discussions and questions about living together in Free Haven’s House. Our paramount aim is to create a safe environment where non-violence and acceptance of diversity prevail. We eagerly anticipate the fresh challenges and mutual learning that each gathering brings. While we don't impose restrictions on technology usage (mobile phones, tablets, laptops), we respect any internal family rules you may have. Join us in shaping a respectful and nurturing community that values individuality and collective harmony.
As participants, we collectively consent to being photographed and/or filmed throughout the event. These photos and/or videos may be shared on the internet or used for promotional purposes of Free Haven's House.
However, if anyone among us feels uneasy about being photographed and/or filmed, please kindly express your concerns during the opening meeting. We will do our best to honor your preference. Nevertheless, we cannot ensure that you won't be inadvertently included in photos or videos, nor can we guarantee that every participant will remember your choice. Your assertiveness and open communication are appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
