Peace Corps Community Sign-On Letter to Congress
(Please review this message to Congress concerning the Respect for Peace Corps Volunteers Act. Then add your name and address and share a brief comment that we will share with your members of Congress)
Dear Members of Congress,
For nearly sixty years, more than 235,000 American citizens have proudly served our nation as Peace Corps Volunteers in 141 foreign nations, while hundreds of additional citizens served as former Peace Corps staff.
Unfortunately, as an increasing number of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), former staff and their families face end-of-life decisions, the current Peace Corps Act does not allow the use of the Peace Corps logo for placement at grave sites or in death notices.
I urge you to support simple, sensible legislation to address this issue, which will have no significant fiscal impact on taxpayers, while allowing families to honor the Peace Corps service of their loved ones.
Sincerely,
