The Generative AI Survey
In recent years we're seeing an ever-increasing number of developments surrounding research in 'generative AI': systems that are capable of creating a variety of artefacts and assets that are typically in the domain of creative practices.  This can include AI that writes stories, generates digital graphics, produces audio samples and much more.

As with any AI development, assessing its relevance and value in the context of the industries it is applicable within is always challenging.  When we consider this alongside the manner in which such technologies are often embraced in our society, it can quite often lead to a negative impact as a result of government adoption, or as corporations seek to maximise profits.

The discussion surrounding the impact of generative AI in creative industries is an ongoing one, and as I begin to explore it more in my YouTube work, it was important to me that I paint a picture of the mood that surrounds the video game industry.  We're seeing Deep Learning AI now being used for graphical rendering, texture upscaling, cheat detection, animation blending, quality assurance and more.  Now this new wave of text, image, code and audio generation tools has the potential to impact the industry even further.  While I am an active member of the community, and a game developer in my own right, I am but one person, and cannot accurately reflect and present the perspectives of others. Ultimately it's crucial that I go out of my way to collate (relevant) views from as broad a range as possible such that I can do this topic justice.

This survey aims to gather your sentiment towards these tools and systems and their relevance in your work in the games industry or related fields.  Is it relevant to your work?  Can you see any benefit to be gleaned from it?  What negative effects can you anticipate as AI continues to 'disrupt' the sector?  Are you simply someone who plays games?  If so, are you excited about what is to come?  All statements provided are under the strictest of confidence and will not be published lest you provide permission in the survey.

In conjunction with GDPR regulations, all data gathered is related purely to the study at hand and will not be shared with any external partners.  Unprocessed data (i.e. original submitted data) will not be kept for more than is necessary for the duration of the project (maximum 24 calendar months).  After which all existing data will be destroyed.  Throughout the period of the study, this information will be stored on a secure server.

Should you have any further questions or queries, you can get in touch via email at contact@aiandgames.com
Thank you in advance for completing the survey.  I really appreciate your time and perspectives on this matter.
