Recruitment Initiative for high school and adult learners
Recruit, Train, Retain.

At KC Tech Academy (KCTA), we want to be a key partner to our industry partners by providing industry-led, world-class training and education for their advanced manufacturing workforce. Creating the workforce of tomorrow begins by creating a solid foundation. KCTA builds the foundation for workforce success by changing the way we recruit individuals new to the industry.

KCTA will work to recruit new associates, both K-12 and adults to get them excited about advanced manufacturing industries. These associates will learn the manufacturing processes and best business practices. They will learn how businesses manage and maintain a budget, the importance of quality, safety, time management, and customer satisfaction. They will learn how products and goods are produced from start to finish. And most importantly, they will learn the value of perseverance and personal accountability.

Right out of the starting gate, KCTA recruits will show an initiative and desire to learn more about advanced manufacturing. Our recruits will start careers with our partners with the knowledge and understanding of how the industry works.

At KC Tech Academy, we are replacing the traditional recruitment models. We are not interested in throwing new workers in the industry and seeing what sticks. Our recruits are entering manufacturing, wanting, and knowing how to make careers with our industry partners.

That is the KCTA difference; we take the time to train and guide our recruits to save you time, money, and frustration of doing this on your fast-paced production floor. We are not motivated by how many jobs we can fill; we are motivated by how well our training benefits the industry.

Join KC Tech Academy, and together we will create a 21st century manufacturing workforce built for success. While our partners focus on developing products that power the economy, KCTA will focus on building tomorrow’s advanced manufacturing workforce.

Is this a program you would be interested in participating in? *
KC Tech's main goal is to provide industry-led education to build a skilled workforce in our area.  Being non-profit rather than higher-education, we can be very agile with the ever-changing technology in manufacturing.  We want to become the regional provider of competencies for high school programs in our area.  How often do you feel we need to re-evaluate our competencies with our industry partners?   *
Below are competencies students can learn by attending our program.  Please check those that would be beneficial for new associates in your business. *
Required
Are there any additional skills that you would like to see implemented?
Our program needs to be considered a "Market-Value-Asset" for our K12 students.  This, along with the availability of earning dual and/or articulated college credit will help to grow our enrollment and secure additional funding for our program.  Would it be fair to say that KC Tech students having completed at least 80% of the above competencies in theory AND practical application could be offered preferential hiring in your business for production or skilled trade roles? *
What type of customized training for your current workforce would you be interested in partnering with KC Tech to help with?   *
Required
Our industry members will have first access to interview our graduates for openings within their business.  This can be as a production associate or any entry level skilled trade role.  Would you be interested in an industry membership with KC Tech? *
Any additional suggestions or comments?
