1. Qualifications and Musical Experience: Merit scholarships are awarded to exceptional musicians, based upon proven musical ability, dedication to the musical craft, and the potential for improving the overall experience for all campers.  
2. Video Auditions: All video auditions should be submitted as YouTube links and must include appropriate accompaniments. Applicant should state name as well as composition title and composer on the video. All links should be cut and pasted into this application.
3. Deadline and Judging: All applications must be submitted on or before March 1, 2020. Incomplete applications will not be considered. A selection committee composed of members of the NEMC faculty will listen to the recordings, examine the application materials, and make the final decisions. All applicants will be emailed with announcement of winners via email no later than April 1, 2020.
4. Qualifying Camper: NEMC major is defined as a camper taking two [2] or more instrumental/voice lessons per week while at NEMC. He/she is expected to participate fully in the NEMC program. 

5. Work/Study: All scholarship recipients will participate in NEMC’s work/study program.

6. NEMC Financial Aid: If applicant’s attendance at NEMC is dependent on financial assistance, we highly recommend that you complete the General Financial Aid Application immediately.  Merit Scholarship awards can be used in addition to or in replacement of NEMC Financial Aid awards.
7. Scholarship recipients may be interviewed, recorded, and/or photographed for future use by NEMC.
