1.) By committing to the 2023 MRDs (via this form), the following applies:

a. You must notify the band office before July 1, 2023 if you are not able to fulfill your commitment. If you do not notify the band office prior to this date, you will be responsible for any costs associated with your membership.

b. If you leave the MRDs for any reason during the season, you will be responsible for any costs incurred prior to your withdrawal.

2.) Only students living on campus will be provided with housing during pre-season camp. We must know that you have university housing by July 1, 2023. All other members will be responsible for making the necessary arrangements for move-ins prior to band camp.

3.) ALL MRDs MUST BE REGISTERED FOR MUAP 237
Section 0001 - Returning Members Only

Section 0002 - Dukettes Only

Section 0003 - New Members (Freshman, Transfer Students, New to Program)

Please register during the Open Enrollment period, or ask your Advisor during your Summer Spring Board visit. All members must be enrolled by August 23 (first day of classes).

4.) COURSE FEE: A $150 course fee will be applied to your student account upon enrolling in MUAP 237.

5.) ALL MRDs must attend PRE-SEASON CAMP

Wednesday, August 16 - Tuesday, August 22

6.) Marching band is a semester-long course. Attendance at all performances and rehearsals is required. Rehearsals will be held at Bridgeforth Stadium.

- Monday Sectionals (6-7:30pm)

- Tues./Wed./Thurs. - Full Band Rehearsals (6-7:30pm)

- Friday - Full Rehearsal (only if we have a game/performance that weekend) (6-7:30pm)

7.) Members are required to attend all performances and events indicated on our season schedule.

September 9 - JMU @ UVA – Road Trip

September 29/30 - POPS CONCERT/FAMILY WEEKEND GAME (JMU vs. South Alabama)

October 7 - JMU PARADE OF CHAMPIONS

October 14 - JMU vs. Georgia Southern (JMU Band Day)

October 28 - JMU vs. ODU (Homecoming)

November 4 - Possible Road Trip

November 11 - JMU vs. UConn

November 18 - JMU vs. App State (Alumni Band & Band Family Weekend)

December 3 - Harrisonburg Holiday Parade & Concert for the Community

POSSIBLE FCS/SUNBELT BOWL GAMES - December 16-30, 2023

* More information regarding possible bowl game travel will be provided once the season begins.
