School Year Caldwell JAM
Caldwell JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) is an after school music program that offers classes for students from 8 to 17 years of age. Held for approximately one hour a week throughout the school year, students learn old-time music in the traditional Appalachian style of singing and playing by ear. Instrument choices are old-time guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. School-year JAM is held at Collettsville School, Happy Valley Elementary, Granite Falls Elementary, and The HUB Station Arts Center in Hudson. New this year is a Performance Class for intermediate and advanced players, and it also meets at The HUB.

Register now, because there is a limit of 10 students per class. If your child is in need of an instrument, rentals are available for $20 for the entire school year.

After registering, we will contact you in advance with the date of your child's first class, and you will be invoiced prior to that date.

Students enrolled in public school are charged based on their school-lunch arrangement with Caldwell County Schools. Payments can be made for the entire year or in two (2) installments. Class fees are as follows:
   - Students who do not receive discounted or free lunch are charged $10/class or $300/year payable in 2 installments of $150 each.
   - Reduced-lunch students are charged $5/class or $150/year payable in 2 installments of $75 each.
   - Free-lunch students are charged $3/class or $90/year, payable in 2 installments of $45 each.
