Hello, Simone here 👋.
I'm a journalist and an author, working on a book about embracing doubt and uncertainty. If you or someone you know has a perspective on the topic, I'd love to hear about it!
A non-exhaustive list of topics I hope to explore:
- The developmental value of doubt
- How to make decisions in spite of doubt/uncertainty
- The risk of a life free from doubt/questioning
- How to keep the faith in moments of doubt
Some examples of the types of folks I'd love to speak with:
- People grappling with big life decisions (i.e. whether to have kids in the face of climate change)
- People who have chosen to eschew a certain path for an uncertain one (i.e. leaving a steady job without something else lined up)
- People who have struggled with an intense bout of self-doubt (i.e. writer's block, the yips, ocd)
- People who are in the business of managing uncertainty (i.e. poker players, insurance providers)
- People who are in the business of maintaining faith (i.e. addiction counselors, clergy)
- Anyone with a GOOD STORY about a time they've dealt with uncertainty or doubt
I'm eager to hear from anyone who might be willing to be interviewed. But because I want to represent a wide range of experiences in the book, I'm particularly keen to speak with people from these backgrounds: people of color, people with disabilities, people who identify as politically conservative, people who don't have a college degree, and people over 50.
