The Draft One Seattle Plan was released by the Mayor and OPCD in early March. It aspires to expand housing opportunities across the city, promote equitable development citywide, focus growth and investment in complete, walkable communities, and meet the challenges of climate change for a resilient future. We strongly align with these goals and believe the Draft Plan makes some important steps to allow for more housing throughout Seattle. However, we believe the Draft Plan needs key revisions to ensure it is truly able to meet the needs of our city and create vibrant, livable, and affordable communities. You can read our coalition's full policy priorities here.
The Complete Communities Coalition is inviting other organizations committed to shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and thriving city to sign on to a joint letter that will be addressed to Mayor Harrell. This letter advocates for an ambitious revision of the draft plan, to ensure it promotes more abundant housing, allows for more family-sized homes, enhances transit-oriented development, and expands neighborhood centers, and expands affordable housing.
