Reframing: Seeing A Bigger, Clearer Picture
Anger and fear-based thoughts that arise from encountering astressful situation can narrow our focus of the bigger picture. Although theinitial aspects of dealing with these situations involve some degree ofgrieving, the secret to coping with stress is to change the threatening perceptionto a non-threatening perception.

This worksheet invites you to identify three stressors and, if necessary, draft a new “reframed” positive perspective (not arationalization) that allows you to get out of the rut of a myopic view andstart moving on with your life. Use this assessment to identify three currentor recent stressful events that you have experiences. Write how you first seethe situation, then reframe the situation to portray a less threatening event.
