About MUSA: The Maple Unified Student Academy (MUSA) is a nonprofit committed to providing high-quality educational programming in the Mon Valley for nearly 60 years. All MUSA programs are state-licensed and rated as a STAR 4, the highest quality rating given by the state. We use The Creative Curriculum, which focuses on exploration and discovery learning through large and small group instruction, socialization, formative assessments, and correlating lessons. This allows us to implement language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, imaginative play, and physical activity. Units and structured lessons are developmentally appropriate and include daily circle time where the students are taught phonological awareness, problem solving skills, motor skills, and much more! The 2022-2023 school year runs September to June (closed on major holidays). We aim to provide safe, inclusive, developmentally-appropriate programs that make learning fun! MUSA costs are subsidized by donations, grants, and government funding. We are required to collect different types of paperwork and information in order to stay eligible for many of these funding sources, and we try to streamline the enrollment process as much as possible. The information provided during enrollment is kept confidential and only anonymous aggregated data is used for reporting purposes.
