The B-WISE project is looking for good practices for developing skills, mainly focusing on digital skills in the WISEs sector.
A good practice, under the B-WISE project refers to an approach (integration pathway) for developing skills. This approach needs to have demonstrated to lead in the development of skills in the WISEs sector. And it can be:
•
a training course,
•
a training element, either a training content, a training manual, a feature that increases accessibility, such as visual aids or a specific learning approach
•
an on-the-job training methodology or other methodology
•
a strategy, a work process, or a tool that aims to support people in developing skills or that enables to identify and build on unexploited skills. (This is not an exhaustive list; other approaches may also be considered.)
The focus shall be on developing digital skills, as this is the main objective of the B-WISE project. However, due to the limited number of practices focusing on digital skills in the WISEs sector, the good practices selected will include approaches developing a wide range of formal or informal skills, which can be also used for the development of digital skills.
The target groups of this good practice shall be:
•
the workers with support needs (often called disadvantaged workers, such as persons with disabilities, older persons, migrants, people neither in employment nor in education etc.), or
•
their supporters (job coaches, trainers) or
•
the enablers of WISEs (managers, directors, coordinators, or any other worker in a higher-level position creating an enabling environment for WISEs).
If the practice supports the development of digital skills, it needs to be related to at least one of the topics, as described below, following the Digital Competence Framework (DIGCOMP):
•
Information and data literacy (e.g.: managing digital data, information and content);
•
Communication and collaboration (e.g.: interact and participate through digital services);
•
Digital content creation (e.g.: to give understandable instructions for an ICT/ digital system);
•
Safety (e.g.: to protect physical and psychological health, be aware of digital technologies for social well-being and social inclusion);
•
Problem solving (e.g.: in digital environments, use digital tools to innovate processes and products).
The criteria for the selection of a good practice are:
Essential criteria:
•
A practice, as described previously, operating in the WISEs sector, in one of the following countries: Belgium, Austria, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Romania, Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland.
•
A practice that targets either workers with support needs, or their supporters or the enablers of WISEs.
•
A practice that relies on/supports the development of skills, mainly digital skills.
•
A practice that can be considered innovative. This may include all the above-mentioned examples of approaches (integration pathways), however the determinant of whether this approach will be featured in the report as a good practice relies on the innovation aspect. Some examples of innovations may include:
•
following a variety of learning approaches,
•
using a blended pedagogical format, online and on-site,
•
developing innovative training materials, innovative content of training,
•
an approach offering certification,
•
an approach targeted on the needs of learners,
•
an approach with a direct impact on the employability of the learners, or on the use of these skills in the open labour market
•
an approach that has been progressively evolved since it was first started etc. (This is not an exhaustive list; other innovative elements may also be considered.)
Preferable criteria:
•
A practice that can be transferred in another context, or in another region/ country. This may also include projects adequately piloted for a specific timeframe with a transferability potential.
•
A practice that has been highly evaluated by the learners.
•
A practice that has tangible impact on the lives of the learners.
