Lumpkin County Family Connection is excited to join local community partners in a weekend backpack food program to ensure students have the food they may need over the weekend. Food will be distributed weekly to parents of participating students on Fridays during the school year.
Key Points:
--Weekend ‘Backpacks’ are distributed on Fridays starting the second week of school until the end of the school year.
--Parent pick-ups are available Fridays 8am-2pm. There will be no food distributions on Fridays when there is a school holiday and changes will be communicated via email.
--Someone can pick up for you only after you give permission.
--Lumpkin Family Connection Facebook will have updates on weather cancellations or other distribution updates and emails will be sent out.
--There is a maximum of a 2 year service period unless there is a life changing event for the family.
--Parents are encouraged to attend a parent group on Thursdays @ 1pm at the Student Outreach Center located at LCMS, where food can be picked up early.
