We will have book discussion circles after church on the following Sundays: 2/25, 3/10, and 3/24. Our hope is to discuss Chapters 1 - 4 on 2/25; Chapters 5 - 7 on 3/10; and Chapters 8 - Epilogue on 3/24, at our final meeting.
Everyone is welcome at each meeting, regardless of whether you've read the chapters for that week. We do ask though that people who have not had the chance to read, take on more of a listening role, so that we can center discussions on the content of the book. In general, we hope t
his will be a space for collective learning, not debating. - - - -
About the Book:
Munther Isaac (PhD, Oxford Centre for Mission Studies) is the academic dean of Bethlehem Bible College in Palestine and pastor of Christmas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem.
"Munther Isaac's book is a heart-rending cry for truth and justice on behalf of the Palestinian church. He tackles head-on the disinformation, ignorance, and terrible misuse of biblical texts that have led to the widespread American evangelical support for the occupation of Palestinian territories and the ongoing oppression of its people. This book should be compulsory reading in all theological seminaries and Bible colleges. Will it disrupt and halt the self-justifying narrative of Christian Zionism? One can only pray that, in God's mercy, it will."
