WHAT IS CARE?
The Corbett Aphasia Rehabilitation and Education (CARE) program is part of Corbett Clinic at the University of Alberta, in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department.
The CARE program is for people with aphasia and their families to access speech and language therapy and to connect with each other. 
CARE uses the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA) to help members increase participation and re-engage in life.
CARE started in January 2021.
WHO?
CARE groups are supervise by registered Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) who work in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department at the University of Alberta. 
CARE groups are facilitated by SLP students in clinical placements.
WHEN?
CARE runs groups year round with a break in August.
WHERE?
Services are provided both online (via Zoom) and in person. 
Please check each group to see the format that it is offered.
FEES:
Each group costs $20/session. Your total cost is therefore based on the number of sessions in a clinical term. 
Summer 2024 will have 11 sessions and will cost $220
Payment will be made in one lump sum at the beginning of the semester. 
Receipts will be provided at the end of the semester. 
(Payment options or subsidized funding can be explored and is offered based on need)
