PhD+ Data Literacy: Managing Your Research Data
January 26, 12-1:30 PM | Zoom

As researchers and scholars, we deal with data every day. This 90-minute session led by PhD Plus colleagues from UVA’s Health Sciences Library will make your life easier by helping you adopt good data practices now. It will be most useful for those who haven’t previously received data management training or need a refresher.

Using real-life examples of tabular (spreadsheet) data, this interactive workshop will cover:

Recommended approaches to data organization, versioning, documentation, and storage
“Tidy data” practices to enable efficient data entry, preparation, and analysis
UVA research data support services and resources
This preliminary session of the PhD Plus Data Literacy series will provide a foundation in research data management and prepare you for the additional Data Literacy session on Python (Fall 2022) or R (Spring 2023). We encourage PhD students and Postdocs of all disciplinary backgrounds to take advantage of this offering.
