Engineering Outreach is proud to develop a program specifically for Indigenous Youth. It is clear there are additional barriers and struggles that youth of colour face as they move through their educational pathway; the program have been developed by Indigenous STEM Students and provides Indigenous youth with a community-oriented and accessible learning environment to explore different areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as well as coding, and engineering design. The curriculum for these programs is aligned to the Ontario Curriculum in the areas of science, technology and mathematics. We are pleased to offer the program at no cost to families with the generous support of Actua and the Government of Canada’s CanCode program.

Participants will be encouraged to learn about hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts using household materials and supplies. As our programs will be offered online, participants will be using commonly found household materials to design and build their projects in addition to online software.

Registering for the c_wonder: Indigenous Youth STEM Clubs will give you direct access to the Google Meet links in advance. You will also receive advance information on the materials that the students may need to follow along and participate during any hands-on activity.

Spots are limited to 30 participants per STEM Club.
