Internship Opportunity- The Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Ben Ray Luján (NM-03), is hiring for a paid full-time intern for his Santa Fe office. Candidates should be motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented individuals. Preferred applicant will have availability starting in June and can stay a minimum of 10 weeks.

This position is intended to assist our district staff, current residency in the state of New Mexico is required.  

Currently all of the Congressman's staff are working remotely. This internship will be done remotely with the possibility of transitioning to an in-person internship should staff return to in-person work.

Intern responsibilities will mostly focus on serving constituents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and will largely consist of data entry, administrative tasks, batching emails and helping with miscellaneous research tasks. Experience with IQ is preferred but not a requirement. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the legislative process as well as the constituent casework process.

Candidates should be outgoing and possess strong oral and written communication skills, an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a good sense of humor. Individuals from a range of identities and backgrounds, including those from historically disenfranchised communities, are also strongly encouraged to apply.
