Connersville High School Summer Sessions (current 9th - 12th)
Due to the pandemic, many students have failed classes and are behind in credits to graduate on time.   We are offering students a chance to re-take classes to improve their grades, earn credit, and to catch up so they may graduate in four years.

Any students who failed classes this year, should retake that class, or take another class to make up for the lost credit.

June 7th - July 2nd, 2021  8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Summer school course availability is subject to enrollment.  There is no fee for summer school.

To promote understanding and compliance with the attendance procedures for summer school at
Connersville High School, the following guidelines have been established and will be adhered to in determining whether a student will receive credit for summer school.

ABSENCES: 4 week session (June 7th – July 2nd) (76 hours) – Students must be in attendance for 71 of the 76 hours or no credit will be awarded.

*TARDINESS: A record will be maintained on student tardiness.  Being tardy is unacceptable and time lost counts.  The 1st to 3rd offense is a warning. The 4th offense will be loss of a break and a call to a parent.  The 5th and 6th offense will be out for the rest of the day, and the 7th offense will be out for the day and out of summer school.

Because of the intensified nature of summer school, daily attendance is critical.  It is imperative that every student attends the maximum hours of class in order to receive the intended benefit from the instruction.  If you have any other commitment that would conflict with the summer school attendance requirement, then summer school may not be the right choice for you this year.

Proper summer school dress will be required as per the CHS dress code.  CHS Student Code for behavior is the expectation.  Students are not allowed to go to their cars during break, unless permission has been granted.

ASSIGNMENTS: Each teacher establishes procedures for how work will be turned in.  Make sure you know all requirements.

TRANSPORTATION: Buses will be provided.

PARKING: Students are to park in the Waterloo student parking lot.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH BREAKS:
All students are provided free breakfast and free lunch.  Meals must be
eaten in the cafeteria.  During breaks students are to remain in the cafeteria
or courtyard areas and are not to go to their cars or parking lots.

WITHDRAWAL:
If a student decides in the first three days of school that they
want to withdraw, then they will receive a grade of (W) - (Withdrawal). Any student who quits after the third day of class will get an (F) - (Failure) in the class, and it will show up on the transcript as an (F).

BEHAVIOR:
All CHS rules are in effect.  Proper summer school dress will be required as per the CHS
dress code.  Students are not allowed to go to their cars during break, unless permission
has been granted.  The first classroom misbehavior will be a warning.  The second
misbehavior will be a detention, assigned after 12:00 and coordinated with the principal.
A third classroom misbehavior will be removal from the class for the remainder of the class period (Time missed will count as part of the five allowed hours that can be missed).
