Why is my child using Google Classroom?
At Tanfield School all homework will now be set through Google Classroom. We encourage every student to have the Google Classroom app downloaded on their phone and the website https://classroom.google.com to be saved in their home computer bookmarks. Students log in to Google Classroom using their school email address and password. If a student cannot access the internet at home they can use a computer room at school.

If you have more than one child at Tanfield School, you can complete this form more than once.
What does Google Classroom offer to parents/guardians?
As a guardian, you can receive email summaries showing your child’s homework progress. You can choose the frequency of the emails, such as daily or weekly. You can unsubscribe or remove yourself from Classroom at any time.

Guardian email summaries include:
- Missing work: Work that’s late at the time the email was sent
- Upcoming work: Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)
- Class activity: Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
