Organic farming is an important step in order to preserve soil health, decrease pollution from the agri-food sector and achieve global food security. Many governments implemented organic food and farming policies to encourage the organic sector to grow. However, in the United Kingdom, the number of fully organic farms has dropped by 34 per cent since 2008 and the number of in-conversion farms is not growing either.
This questionnaire is a key part of the study that explores the reasons and influencing factors for farmers to give up organic certification and then defines the main trends in this transition. This survey consists of two parts. In the first part, you will be asked demographic questions about your profile and the type of farm you are part of. The second part will try to understand the reasons and influencing factors to give up organic certification and/or transitioning to conventional farming.
Your participation in this questionnaire is very much appreciated. It should take you not more than 15 minutes to complete it. Before completing the questionnaire, please read the Participant Information Sheet.
