Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the West Virginia Robotics Alliance! Our events would not be possible without the support of our many dedicated volunteers.
Most of our volunteer positions are an all-day commitment. All volunteers will receive lunch and a volunteer T-shirt. Additionally, we are able to provide certificates verifying the number of hours served upon request.
Although our specific volunteer needs vary from event to event, the most common roles are as follows:
- Referees: Work together with the event's Head Referee to score matches and enforce game rules.
- Judges: Review teams' documentation and interview teams to determine the winners of judged awards.
- Match Queueing: Keep the event on schedule by making sure that teams are present at the field for their scheduled matches.
- Field Reset: Reset the field to its starting configuration after each match.
- A/V: Operate audio & video equipment to maintain a high-quality experience for people at the event and watching from home via Twitch.
