Perinatal Bereavement Training Workshop Pre-Registration
Three Little Birds will be debuting our Perinatal Bereavement Training Workshop in the Spring/Summer of 2021. The primary objective of the Workshop is to provide understanding and empathy for perinatal loss families, by way of educating and empowering medical staff to provide families with the best care on the worst day of their lives. This workshop is split into two sections: Part 1: Education, Communication & Empathy and Part 2: Walking the Journey. Workshops begin with an introduction of the training staff, as well as an overview of Three Little Birds Perinatal.  There will also be a background discussion on statistics and goals.  The main workshop will cover the following topics:

- Understanding the unique grief of pregnancy and infant loss
- How to hold space, and effectively advocate, for families
- Understanding the sacred bond between mother and baby
- Cultural, religious, ethnic and personal diversity in death
- How pregnancy and infant loss impacts a family's future, and the care they receive, can affect their healing
- Understanding a patient's perspective of their experience, as well as its impact on her and caregivers, including symptomatic, intellectual, psycho-social and spiritual dimensions of loss
- How to create a lifetime of memories in moments
- Perinatal Bereavement Photography training; tips and tricks from a Professional (Bereavement) Photographer
- Hands-on scenarios - Utilizing the information discussed in Part 1, hands on scenarios will be role-played to give attendees the opportunity to "experience", and understand how to handle, all possibilities
