ONE MINUTE MOVIE REGISTRATION
Please register to submit your One Minute Movie; registration is open until Monday, March 9th at noon Pacific Time.  
 
However, total submissions for this competition are capped at 50, so sign up early!  After you have registered you will receive detailed instructions on how to submit your film.

THE CHALLENGE
MAKE A FILM that is one minute or less!
 
The One Minute Movie Contest is the most democratic way to discover new voices and bring them into the Outfest family. When the theme is announced, aspiring and established filmmakers alike use their phones or cameras to shoot a one-minute short film on the topic. All the submissions are screened at the Fusion Finale, followed by audience voting and an announcement of the winners.
THEME
This year’s theme is BUILD EMPATHY / BREAK APATHY.
 
Filmmakers are able to pick one of the categories OR incorporate both into their one-minute film.  We encourage you to be creative with the theme!
 
As a reminder, this is an LGBTQ festival and the content or creator should reflect that.
SUBMIT
Once you register you will receive instructions on how to submit and upload your film for the competition. Submit the high-res .mov file of your film to us by Monday, March 9th, at 12PM (noon) Pacific Time.  There will be no deadline extensions granted. Submissions must be in the correct format or they will be disqualified.
SCREENING & PARTY
Come join us on the evening of Tuesday, March 10th as we close out Outfest Fusion 2020 with the Fusion Finale, where we screen all of the submissions from the One Minute Movie Contest.
WIN
JURY AWARDS: $100 cash prize for the best BUILD EMPATHY film and for the best BREAK APATHY film, and the best BUILD EMPATHY / BREAK APATHY film.

AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD: A 2020 Outfest Producer Level Annual Membership ($800 value)

All four films will be included in the 2020 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival line-up in July, which grants the director full filmmaker benefits.
