EWA: "Privacy in the Digital Age" | ELSA Bologna
The Local Section of ELSA Bologna is pleased to present, for the first time, the ELSA Webinars Academy "Privacy in the Digital Age".

The event will consist of five meetings of approximately two hours each, which will be held on the 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th and 25th of November on the Zoom platform of ELSA Italy.

At the end of each meeting, there will be a part dedicated to the Social Program, where participants will be involved in various activities to consolidate the topic addressed by the speaker.

The goal of this event will be to deepen knowledge in the field of Privacy.

ELSA Webinars Academy will be structured as follows:

-November 16th from 11am to 1pm  "Welcome to the world of Privacy": with the Professors of the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Bologna, Giusella Finocchiaro and Matilde Ratti.
In-depth analysis on the following topics: the birth of the right to privacy, legal experiences in Europe, the creation of the Code regarding the protection of personal data and the transition to the GDPR.

- November 17th from 5 pm to 7 pm  "Data Privacy and Security in the Age of Cloud Platforms": with Professor Michele Colajanni of the Engineering Department of the University of Bologna.
During this meeting, reference will be made to the choice made by Apple, regarding the use of an algorithm for the detection of child pornography material, which was considered a risk to privacy.

-November 23rd from 3 pm to 5 pm "Accountability in the era of the Internet of Things": with Luca Bolognini, lawyer and president of the Italian Institute for Privacy and Data Enhancement (IIP).
We will talk about the requirements, obligations, responsibilities for control and data processing at the time of AI and NGIoT (Next Generation Internet of Things) in the scenarios of industry 4.0 and intelligent services.

-November 24th from 3 pm to 5 pm  "Health and Safety: Privacy in the professional world at the time of Covid-19. The role of Data Protection Authority": with the Vice President of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data, Ginevra Cerrina Feroni, who will give a brief introduction of the event, to then continue the meeting with Filiberto E. Brozzetti, Legal Advisor of the Guarantor and professor at the LUISS Guido Carli University.
During this meeting we will discuss: changes in privacy within the workplace due to the pandemic, workers' rights, directives and steering documents adopted by the Guarantor.

-November 25th from 3 pm to 5 pm "How to tackle a data breach: A practical approach"
Analysis and resolution of a case in the "data breach".

Participants will be supported by three speakers:
• Avv. Federico Gatta: Managing Associate, ICT Legal Consulting. Consultant specialized in the protection of personal data and law of new technologies;
• Dr. Kate Francis, Privacy, Ethics & Communication Specialist - ICT Legal Consulting;
• Prof. Giampaolo Bella, Chief Cybersecurity Advisor - ICT Cyber Consulting.

If our guests would provide some materials, they will be shared before the meeting, in preparation for it. While, at the end of the event a digital gadget will be sent, in memory of this experience.

Furthermore, those who have matured the frequency of 80% (4 of the 5 days) will receive a certificate of participation, which they can use to enrich their CV.

The event will have a maximum capacity of 45 participants and will be open to all students and recent graduates in Law until capacity is reached.
