Skeena Diversity would like to thank the Terrace Public Library for putting together the maker kit for participants to take home and make this soup.
BISARA RECIPE
Ingredients:
dried fava beans or dried green peas or both - 3 cups
olive oil - 2 tablespoons
garlic - 2 cloves
salt - 1 teaspoon
pepper - 1 teaspoon
cumin - 1 teaspoon
hot pepper (optional)
water - 2 cups
In a pressure cooker add olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, hot pepper, dried fava beans or dried green peas or both plus water to cover about 3 cm above the peas.
Cook for 20 to 30 minutes (about an hour in a pot).
Mix it with a blender and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
Serve it hot with olive oil, cumin, and hot pepper.
