The Etiwanda High School Summer Bridge Program is to provide academic support for our incoming 9th grade English Language Learners and incoming 9th grade Freshmen needing additional academic support to be successful in their core subject classes. The Summer Bridge Program will focus on offering four areas of support: Math, Science, English, and AVID Academic Essentials.

Program Overview: The program will run for 4 weeks, May 31st to June 23rd. Classes will be Monday-Thursday, with a teacher option on Fridays through Zoom.

Schedule Overview: Classes will be divided in two blocks (Math/Science & English/AVID), with each class being two hours in length. Students will be put in two groups and take all four classes during the 4-week span. One group of students will spend the first two weeks completing a block of classes (e.g. Math/Science), while the second group completes the second block of classes (e.g. English/AVID). Students will then rotate blocks after the first two weeks, allowing students to complete all four sections.

Block 1:
Math Support: 8:05 am – 10:05 am
Science Support: 10:10 am – 12:10 pm

Block 2:
English Support: 8:05 am – 10:05 am
AVID Academic Essentials: 10:10 am – 12:10 pm

Student Incentives: Earn 10 elective credits, gain exposure to 9th grade curriculum, create effective study habits/routine, become familiar with the campus, and improve overall transition to high school.
