Waste Not Volunteer Sign Up, Spring 2022
This is an form to sign up to be a Spring 2022 Waste Not volunteer.  We will be hiring 25-30 students, with preference given to students who will live on campus or in Middletown for the summer.

Waste Not is an annual program that fosters equitable sustainability by improving access to low-cost items while reducing campus waste and raising money for local and environmental causes. Our volunteer team collects essential supplies every spring during move-out and holds a fall tag sale for the community. We believe in the power of cooperative, focused teamwork to create a future of responsible consumption.

Waste Not volunteers will not be paid, but will receive free housing until Tuesday 5/24, a $60 food stipend for the week, breakfast and lunch provided on major move-out days, a free t-shirt, and the chance to get free Waste Not stuff.  Your role is vital in reducing waste and raising money for the community!

Why do you want to volunteer for Waste Not? *
All students hired to volunteer for Spring Waste Not will have their housing fees covered by Res Life. All student volunteers must attend mandatory volunteer meetings and arrive on time to all of their assigned shifts. If a student cannot make their assigned shift, they will be charged for housing for that day unless prior written notice with a valid excuse (illness, family emergency) is given 24 hours before the start of their shift.  Student volunteers must behave in a manner appropriate for representatives of Wesleyan. It is essential that all volunteers attend all assigned shifts on Saturday, May 14 and Monday, May 23 (rain date: Tuesday, May 24), for undergraduate move-out and senior move out. If a student volunteer fails to adhere to these regulations: Student volunteers will be asked to pay back the cost of housing for each day that the volunteer misses part or all of their shift without 24 hours written notification and a valid excuse (illness or family emergency only). If the student has violated the code of non-academic conduct, they may be asked to leave campus immediately. For a comprehensive list of university regulations, please refer to Wesleyan's Code of Non-Academic Conduct: https://www.wesleyan.edu/studentaffairs/studenthandbook/student-conduct/non-academic-conduct.html. The student will not be hired for any future Waste Not events. Workers will be provided with housing until Saturday 5/25. HOWEVER, students living in certain residence halls or program houses may need to move into a different residence hall for the week of 5/14.  All students hired to work Spring Waste Not are expected to work an average of 8 hours on Saturday 5/14 and 9 hours on Monday 5/23 (rain date Friday 5/24).  Lunch will be provided on both of those days. *
You must agree to the above volunteer commitment to be hired as a Waste Not volunteer.
