2020 RDKit UGM and COVID-19
At the time we're planning this (in late April), it's not at all certain that we'll be able to actually hold an in-person UGM in October in Berlin. At the moment it looks like things should be back to normal enough in Germany that we will be able to actually do the UGM, but we realize that this could easily change and will also make preparations for a purely virtual version of the UGM, just in case.
We know that this isn't just our decision, some people may not be able to travel to Berlin due to government- or employer-imposed travel restrictions or may just feel uncomfortable arranging a trip at this point. Since having a UGM without attendees doesn't make sense, we're collecting feedback from the community.
A word on the terms below:
- in-person UGM: The usual 2+1 day UGM, with talks, talktorials, lightning talks, posters, social events, etc.
- "virtual UGM": An online-only version of the UGM with a reduced program of talks, talktorials, lightning talks, and posters. We would probably run this for a few hours a day over the course of a few days.
- "Supplemental UGM": An online-only event that would take place in addition to an "in-person" UGM. This would include a shorter program.
