Work-life conflict and mental health consequences among working men and women
Working adults has 24 hours available to them to perform daily activities. However, the increase in work demands, family demands, workloads, and financial responsibilities have created a situation where the work activities may spill over into other activities and vice versa.
Caused by the pandemic, the decision of home-based work has further blurred the boundary between the work life and family life, even after the lockdown.
Moreover, because working women spend more time on household activities as compared to men, women may suffer from double burden role which will increase their work-life conflict.
Work-life conflict may lead to mental health outcomes such as life dissatisfaction, burnout, stress, depression, anxiety, and other health related outcomes including cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and mortality.
The purpose of this workshop is to share knowledge, skills, and techniques of reducing work-life conflict and improving mental well-being.
